Son of Beast was a wooden roller coaster located at Kings Island amusement park in Mason, Ohio. It opened in 2000 as one of the tallest, fastest, and only looping wooden roller coasters in the world. The coaster stood 218 feet tall and reached speeds of 78 mph.
Son of Beast was known for its rough and intense ride experience, with many riders complaining of discomfort and even injuries. Due to ongoing issues with the ride's structure and maintenance, it was frequently closed for repairs.
In 2006, a serious accident occurred on the coaster that injured several riders, leading to increased scrutiny and safety concerns. Son of Beast was eventually permanently closed in 2009 and later demolished in 2012.
Despite its troubled history, Son of Beast remains a memorable and iconic attraction for roller coaster enthusiasts.
